Modest Solution Wear

Modest Solution Wear

Modest Solution Wear

It’s 2025, there are fashion solutions for every shape and size from spanx to BBL underwear, minimisers to maximisers. So why is it that for modest fashion wearers we still have to search around and use our educated stylist skills to make mainstream clothes work for us? Where is the solution to our problems in accessing the same fashion as everyone else? Don’t get me wrong the pieces that we do need are available far and wide…and that’s just the problem, far and wide. We have to shop at multiple outlets on and offline looking for garments that are the right length (including neckline, arm length) in order to provide that extra bit of coverage to make the dress we saw in the shops work. It’s not as easy for us to just wear that top that sits a little lower on the neck or that split to the knee even. It’s a big deal for us.

Okay…I hear you say but why don’t you just shop at modest fashion stores that is your answer?

Right, as a modest woman I love the fact that so many brands are now offering modest fashion, but I (along with a huge group of women who prefer more coverage) still don’t really shop from them exclusively. You want to know why?… Because most modest fashion doesn’t always follow mainstream trends, they are soo focused in giving us coverage they forget about style trends and the result being clothes that are more weddingy than trendy. Simply put they are just not cool enough to wear when you are out in the town. So, with the art of finding layering items and swallowing extra costs for alterations most of us have collected a bank of items and skills in order to wear normal fashion.

What are these essential items?

Ria Line is a brand that aims to act as bridge for those who prefer more coverage to access mainstream fashion trends. We feel there is a disconnect between modest and mainstream fashion and understand that modesty has many different levels making it very personal to everyone. Introducing RIA Line’s Modest Solution Wear, the beginning of a layering collection for all types of modesty levels and more importantly all in one place. From vests with different sleeve lengths, longer length slip dresses, abayas to leggings this is solution wear for you to shop at your favourite brands with no worry in how you are going to make it work because we have got you covered, literally.

Time To Embrace The Layers

Layering is the most powerful tool a modest woman can possess, mostly because it allows us to wear the same outfits as everyone else. It is an easy solution and with the correct layering techniques, you can make any garment modest by using the following:

Vests, full sleeved vests, sleeveless vests, t-shirt style vests you need them all. These are the ultimate undergarments for most but especially for modest women. You can use the full sleeved vests under tops or dresses that don’t have sleeves or you can wear a sleeveless style under an abaya. Vests are great when the neckline is too low and they can even be worn on its own, the possibilities are endless. Ria Line is launching a full range of essential Ana vests in all the basic colours you need to layer with. They are all high neck and super soft, think of them as the modest skins we all need.

Cardigans and Blazers: An easy hack to wear on top of bottoms that may be a little fitted is to wear a longer top. An oversized blazer can balance your outfit out perfectly, you can wear trainers, chunky loafers or even heels with this fail-safe outfit. Ria Line has introduced snippets of their Afsheen jogger set in a luxurious soft fabric you will want to live in. The top has a length that falls below your bottom to give you a modest street style look and if that wasn’t enough it even has some bling!

Scarves, shawls, hijabs: Some people like to wear a shawl across their necks and chest whereas others want to cover their heads in order to be more modest. Whatever your preference they look elegant and come in a range of patterns and colours to suit all your moods.

Slip dresses: I remember a time when sheer dresses used to come with a slip, now we have to find a slip separately and most of the slips are shorter in length and have strappy tops which are not suitable for modest women as you can still see our shoulders and the bottoms of our legs. Within RIA Line’s Ana collection there are longer length under dresses with a high neck useful for any mainstream dresses when the back is too low or its completely sheer. You can also wear these modest slip dresses on their own or layered under an abaya. Simple and genius.

Leggings: I grew up wearing leggings underneath everything! They were an easy fix to dresses or skirts that were shorter in length or had splits. Fast forward and everyone still loves leggings. Leggings are usually opaquer than tights but both can provide you with coverage under any mainstream dress or skirt ou find in the shops. Don’t by shy to show the legging either wear it proud to show you don’t believe in limitations!

Oversized/long T-shirts: If you want an easy modest street look or a modest holiday coverup then you know you will need a loose t-shirt. Many of my modest friends used to wear their husbands’ t-shirts on our summer breaks as they were looser and longer. Ria Line’s has already shown the famous Materialistic T-shirt on the gram, deliberately oversized, long and not even with a tiny split it owns what people may think with no shame, because who cares if we love fashion!

Abayas: okay if you don’t own anything else an open abaya will make your outfit instantly modest. There has been a huge rise in open abayas with women wearing them mostly on jeans and tops to provide them with more modesty instantly. An abaya has long loose sleeves, maxi length and an oversized fit meaning you can chuck it on absolutely anything. I mean every modest influencer is on the abaya trend. Ria Line will be answering with an abaya that takes fashion trends from the catwalk mixed with Middle Eastern bling, that we cannot wait for.

Finally, Stop Putting us into Boxes

The Modest Solution Wear from Ria Line is an answer to a problem we have all normalised. We have normalised in making multiple shopping trips to match garments with or going to the sewing aunty and spending that extra money and time in a fight for more coverage. It should just be easier instead of a chore. Ria Line is paving the way for brands to be more inclusive by providing options for those who prefer more coverage. It’s all in the detail and that little detail is deal breaker for a mass amount of women who struggle to balance their personal needs within the modern world they live in. We need a brand that can keep up with us on and offline. Stop putting us in boxes where we have to choose to be mainstream or modest and just give us the options we need instead.
